Hiyama shivered in the snowy streets of Sapporo, standing near the Ganso-Ramen Yokocho. He glanced down at the fifteen or so ramen shops and wondered which one they would eat in.
Snowflakes were catching on to the fur that lined Hiyama's brown winter jacket. He shivered again and brushed some of the white powder out of his messy brown hair.
"Dammit," he growled to himself under his breath as he looked at his wristwatch. "They're late and leaving me here to wait in the blasted snow."
It was February 10, and the 62nd Sapporo Yuki-Matsuri would be held until the thirteenth in Odori Park. There, many people gathered to create or look at lovely ice sculptures.
After eating a dinner of Sapporo's famous miso-ramen, the tourists would go to the station and take the Nanboku subway line to attend the festival. Then they would head back to Hotel Okura Sapporo for the night so they could be prepared to visit more attractions the following morning.
Hiyama fingered the wallet in his pocket and sighed. Sightseeing was fun, but expensive. And when was everyone else going to show up? The brown-haired man shook more snowflakes from his hair. Damn, it was cold.

Taito left the subway train station and shivered as the bitter cold wind bit at his revealed bits of skin. Maybe he should try wearing different clothes once in a while. An open coat with nothing but bandages around the chest wasn't such a great thing to wear during freezing cold weather. Taito shivered again and tried to close his jacket. Where the hell were the buttons?
Today there was a meet-up for the Yuki-Matsuri. Taito walked down to the area everyone agreed to randevous. Snow flakes lazily fluttered into his hair and stuck to his eyebrows and eyelashes. How annoying.
After passing one or two ramen shops, Taito began to look around for the members of the meet-up. He was a little late, so maybe someone was waiting around. He didn't notice Hiyama and walked past him. After all, he was a pretty ordinary looking man.

Yuma clasped his hands together tightly, a smile plastered onto his face. He absolutely loved the winter time! It was so full of wonders, and ... well, snow! The whole lot of Sapporo was covered in a white color. Snowflakes lightly covered his head, and blew into his face a few times. Thankfully it wasn't snowing too hard.
Yuma couldn't wait for Yuki Matsuri. He'd waited since summer began (after long hours of hating the heat and groaning too much about it.) Now it was time. There was supposed to be some sort of gathering. He was pretty sure he was invited to it, but he'd already forgotten. Although being here was quite nice, anyhow!
He stopped to poke at a snowman which was sitting by a small business. The snow was packed in together, so it wouldn't break so easily. The arms were little sticks and the nose was an odd shaped rock. It was kind of cute. He patted it on the top of the head and went on his way.
After a bit of walking, he stopped to take a break and look around. He wondered where everybody was? Who had invited him anyhow? He could've sworn he saw Hiyama, but it was just another average joe. His hair was a bit more messier than the school teacher's.
Yuma let out a sigh, well it wouldn't hurt to enjoy being by himself. He put his hand out, letting the white flakes fall onto his hands, then dissolve from his body heat. That made him angry, he could never actually catch one of the darn things. He wiped his hand off and scowled, now was that meet-up exactly today?

Hiyama, who was still shivering in the freezing cold weather glanced around, hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the friends he was waiting for. As he swept more snow from his wet and messy hair, his peripheral vision picked up something with lots of purple and white.
Not to his surprise, the purple-clad man was none either than the mummy-man known as Taito. Of course he wasn't the exact definition of mummy, having his organs intact and not being embalmed and all, but he was covered in a lot of bandages.
And then to Hiyama's great surprise, the dolt walked right past him as if he was just standing, waiting outside of the blasted street of ramen shops because he wanted to become a snowman for fun. Even more irritating yet, a certain pink haired male made the same mistake before Hiyama could even call out to the first offender!
Did they not see him standing there? How could they not recognize their own friend? Sure, he was wearing his contacts instead of glasses, but he would think his hair and face would be enough. These guys!
"Hey! A**holes!" Hiyama stormed towards the two ignorant men, trudging through the snow that was beginning to build up on the road.
"I'm right here! Why did you walk past me?"

Sanae stood around pacing around in a circle in the snow, playing with her phone so that she wouldn't look lonely, but she couldn't help but feel that way...being in a different prefecture and city.... She sat down with a frown and looked at her phone a little, texting.
"Nodoka-sempai, are you here yet?"
She sighed as she pulled her white beanie down a little more over her ears, sitting in front of very many ramen shops on a bench. She sighed a little as she reached her hand out and looked up at the sky as the snow fell. Her warm breath vaporizing. The cold didn't bother her, perhaps she'd live up here for the rest of her life maybe, but she didn't want to feel lonely. She sighed as snow melted meeting her bare hand.

(Your writing.. So poetic. <3) A very angry looking man with ordinary brown hair was stomping over to Taito. He had said a**holes plural meaning... Taito looked around. ...that Yuma was there! Taito obviously didn't smile, but it was a pleasant surprise. If only Hiyama had told everyone who was attending the meet-up. Now what did this guy mean by, "I'm right here!"? "Oh. Did you want something?" Taito quietly waited for the man to answer. He must have been asking for directions before being ignored. Poor guy. The snow continued to fall in small flurries. Snowflakes smacked themselves against Taito's skin in some sort of kamikaze attack. Snowflakes tended to be suicidal. Some lucky or unlucky (it was hard to tell) snowflakes kept getting caught in Taito's hair and didn't melt away like the ones that landed on his face and hands.

((I wanna join...))
Ryu smiled and pulled on a long black and dark purple coat over a white and black striped turtle neck. She had on purple skinny jeans and black knee high snow boots. She smiled as she wrapped a dark purple scarf around her. After that she put in her dark purple contacts to help her see better. With a smile plastered on her porcelain face she ran out the Shion's houeshold and down the streets. She was going to Sapporo.
Smiling she wandered the streets in Sapporo. Passing many ramen shops. Finally she stopped for a moment and bought a hot bowl of ramen. Then she continued her journey in the snow. Soon the young girl spotted some people. It was Taito, Yuma and Hiyama. Well that wasn't her problem right now... Sighing she knew that they might not recognize her. Smiling she walked towards them.

Yuma heard the odd, shrill voice of Kiyoteru Hiyama. He raised his hand up, "Yooo! What's up, dude?" However friendly he was, he couldn't help but to get a bit angry at Hiyama's way of arranging things, and get-togethers.
"Now, man, if you would just pick one place to meet up at!" He folded his arms, "I thought you were organized, what with being a school-teacher and all. Oh and if you wanted us to notice you, make yourself look more brighter, and not so boring! What are you already becoming an old man?" Yuma shook his head, letting his anger tone down, "Anyways...how's it going?"
He'd then noticed Taito, and as it usually seemed, Ryu was around them, too. Eh, was that even her? She looked different, maybe she got a hair-cut? Eh, it wasn't too noticeable.

"FFFFFFFFFF......." Hiyama was ready to spew fire and eat Yuma's head off. He had arranged for them to meet on this street. Wasn't that good enough? Obviously not. Taito looked perfectly ready to walk off.
"Why the hell would you insult my outfit, you, you..." Hiyama tried not to call the pink-haired individual anything too offending, but right now only really bad insults were spinning in his mind. "You jerk!" That had no punch whatsoever. Whoops.
Before Taito could stalk off, Hiyama grabbed hold of the bandage that was wrapped around the purple-haired man's neck.
"Let's get into one of these restaurants, shall we?" Hiyama was trying hard not to lose his cool. "Sapporo is famous for miso ramen. Eat fast so we can go to Odori Park and check back into the hotel in time."
In the corner of his eye, he saw Sanae, someone Nodoka had invited stand idly in the snow, and Ryu as she stumbled out of a ramen store. She was wet from melted snow, and her clothes were ruined from a long trip from Tokyo to Hokkaido. Hiyama turned to get a better look at her. She was smiling and walking over.
Hiyama turned back to Yuma before whipping back to see Ryu again. Wait what?
~~~~~~~~~~~
Nodoka fiddled with her cell phone, patiently waiting in the subway train. She had recently purchased this cell phone due to the badgering of her co-workers and friends, and good thing too.
Being directionally challenged wasn't exactly fun, and thanks to a text message banter with Sanae, the befuddled doctor had somehow made it to the correct station. It helped that this city had a rectangular infrastructure, making navigation easier.
If only I left the hotel at the same time as Sana-chan, Nodoka thought to herself.
The subway hurtled towards the next station. The lit screen of Nodoka's cell showed Sanae's text: "Nodoka-sempai, are you here yet?"
Nodoka hurried to make a reply. Almost, kouhei. Be patient. I don't think I'll get lost after this point.
Or so she hoped. The train slowed to a stop and the doors slid open. An electronic voice named the stop and the next destination. It was funny thinking that Nodoka and all of the other VOCALOID were akin to the bodyless voice on the speaker.
Nodoka rushed out of Odori Station, and snow drifted slowly from the blackened sky, quickly powdering her jet black locks. A flake landed on a straggle that hung in front of the doctor's face, and she could see the intricate design.
No two snowflakes are alike, Nodoka thought to herself. There was no actual proof, but science showed that the frozen water crystallized in different patterns every time.
Snowflakes were always different, but that statement seemed so hard to believe, so unlikely when billions flew from the raven entity they called the sky in a seemingly endless shower. But just like people, there were so many, but none were exactly the same.
A cold gust pulled Nodoka's hair into her face, and she quickly pulled up her hood and tightened her red scarf. Shivering, she shoved her hands into her pocket and headed for the randevous spot.
She was pleased to find Susukino. It meant that she hadn't taken a wrong turn for once. Large buildings with their advertisements lit up the city. Cars sped down the streets and throngs of people walked the sidewalks despite the weather or time.
There were a lot of beer advertisements, but that wasn't too much of a surprise. Sapporo was well known for its beer, and Nodoka thought about trying some, even if she wasn't a drinker and was a total geko.
Eventually, the narrow streetway called the Ramen Yokocho was reached. Nodoka almost started extensively salivating at the thought of finally getting some dinner.
Crowds of tourists and ramen-fanatics lined the street, but despite their interference, Nodoka finally spotted the group she was looking for.
A girl (Nodoka couldn't tell who--her back was turned) was slowly making her way towards a brunette man who was clothed in more boring brown, who at the moment was holding the neck-bandage of an easily recognizable purple-haired man and saying something to another man whose back was turned, but his pink hair was visible, poking out of his winter hat.
Hiyama, Taito, and Yuma had all arrived before her, and Nodoka felt a bit of guilt wind into her gut for making them all wait in the snowy streets of Sapporo.
But Nodoka only had eyes for the girl who stood near them. The dark locks of the girl's bob-cut poked out of her white beanie as she nervously checked her cell phone and looked around, searching for the next tourist to arrive.
"Sana-chan!" Nodoka was filled with relief and joy as she jogged over to her friends and stumbled over the snow-covered curb. "Let's go eat now! I'm starving!"
With friends, foes, clients, or acquaintances, Nodoka always had a remarkable lack of tact.
She looked at group, just staring at them noticing their colorful hair colors. She just sat there and watched as they got annoyed at each other until a small girl approached them. She only grinned when she noticed Hiyama noticed her for a second, after all, she was just right there, not very far.
But once hearing her name being called out, she turned and smiled when she saw the hooded figuring running with her scarf following. "Nodoka-sempai!" She looked back at the others and smiled as she bowed before looking around at the shops. "Well...which one are we going to then?" Steam rose from each building, evident warmth from inside rather than the cold from out here.
"KKK-" Taito grasped his neck and began to gasp for air. Then he hurriedly backed up before he would die.
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?" Taito, being the violent man he was, reached into his sleeve and pulled out his ice pick. He was pretty much ready to strike. Of course, being in public and remembering the law, Taito was careful not to lose it and kill him right then there.
This guy was treating Taito as if they knew each other alrea- wait... On closer inspection, the "random dude" turned out to be Hiyama Kiyoteru. And Hanuna Ryu was charging over as well. Great.
Miso ramen sounded like a good idea, though, so Taito put his ice pick away and just coughed into his sleeve to look totally normal. Yup. Nothing went wrong today.
Meanwhile, two girls were calmly joining the group as well. Taito turned and waved quickly.
Yuma snorted at Hiyama's reply to him. The dude was funny. His sense of humor was odd, but still a good laugh. He decided to stand around and watch as the other two men quarreled. He brushed the snow off of his clothing.
After a while, he shot the two a glare, "Would you guys knock it ou-- oh okay good." He noticed that two girls had joined their little group, along with hopefully not Ryu. Ignoring the fact that half the group contained grumpy older men, it seemed to be acquiring more people.
He waved his hand a little, "Okay, lead the way, Kiyoteru." He just wanted to enjoy the snowy weather, not get into arguments. However, he happened to do that a lot.
Ryu finally found herself beside the group. It consisted of Taito, Yuma, Hiyama, Nodoka and Sanae. She knew most of those inside the group. Her clothes were ruined but she had some money to buy more. Of course she would go shopping later for more clothes. But that didn't matter right now.
Hiyama had suggested that they go eat some miso ramen. Then go to some park. She didn't know the park name. Because she wasn't paying that much attention to Hiyama in the first place. Taking a breath she started to speak."Hey...how are you guys?,"she said softly. ((That is all I could do right now... I tried to do better...))
(Derp. Using my knowledge from the movie 'Tanpopo' for the ramen restaurant. Ahaha... By the way, that's not a kid's movie, so if you're really that curious, watch on Youtube. It's subbed and the dirty parts are blacked out (even if you can still hear what's going on).)
Nodoka shuddered and looked at the various shops set up on the street. There were very many, and she had no idea which one was the best place to dine. It was probably guess and pray time.
As she looked indecisively at the many ramen shops, almost twenty, Hiyama began to trudge through the snow to the north side of the alley. He looked to the right at the brightly lit restaurant, which was the second from the end.
Rai Rai Ken was written in neat characters on the white sign which protruded from the restaurant. The group pushed their way inside and were instantly surrounded by the warm air inside the building. The snow caught in their hair and clothing began to melt and they rubbed their numbed hands and noses.
The group made their way inside sat around the wooden counter. The air buzzed with the conversation and slurping of the other customers. Nodoka glanced at some of the customers behind her and made a note to order the gyoza they were enjoying.
"Order what you want," Hiyama said, "Nodoka's paying."
"What? I never agreed to that."
"Kani ramen, shio aji kudasai."
Nodoka ground her teeth as the others ignored her protests and began to place their orders. The old man behind the counter smiled and nodded before he carefully prepared their ramen. Scooping noodles into a strainer, shaking out the water, and placing it into bowls, which already contained soup broth base at the bottom.
Defeated, Nodoka ordered the famous butter corn ramen. Maybe she would try the reknowned miso ramen and shio ramen some other time. She ordered gyoza with her ramen as well, and felt a little bad for the gorging of sodium-packed food that was about to occur. As a doctor, she discouraged eating this type of food, but oh well.
(...omg...seeing Hiyama pinning the bill to Nodoka made me think: "Nice guys finish last, that's why I treat you like trash.")
Upon entering the shop, Sanae could immediately feel the warm air hitting her face. She inhaled deeply before exhaling the same way before taking off her beanie and stuffing it in her white puffy coat, due to the inside being furry. Sitting down she smiled as she ordered her's chicken flavored. She was most likely not really going to try something new anyways, not liking change very much. "Ano...Sempai..." She looked over to her alumni, feeling a bit bad that Hiyama pinned the bill on her. "If anything, I would be happy to cover the bill!" She bowed her head to Nodoka, keeping her face down. She didn't have much, but she couldn't let her upper class man pay for everyone!
She kept her eyes closed for a little bit, feeling a bit annoyed but tried to keep it in. She didn't want to fume in front of the others at Hiyama but...it was most disrespectful. She sat back up and bowed her head to the old cook with a smile when her hot bowl was placed in front of her. She took her chopsticks and held them in her hands, putting them in a clasp as if she was praying. She closed her eyes and leaned her head towards her hands a little, mumbling a quiet 'itadakimasu' and waited for the others to begin eating.
