Ryosuke looked around at the customers seated in the fast food restaurant. Most of them were foreigners with brown or blonde hair, larger busts than the norm, and certainly not as small as usual Japanese girls were. It was quite intimidating.
Which one of these girls would be Besanii? He glanced at a teenage girl who sat nearby, primping her flamboyant blonde curls with her right hand as she gazed at her reflection in a small mirror. A salad sat in front of her.
On the other side of the table, a large guy with tattoos leaned on the wall, talking in his cell phone. Daso--er, Daniel was talking on his cell phone to a guy, right? And Besanii was American, right?
Ryosuke ditched the other two and rushed over excitedly to the two foreigners. They looked a bit scary, but no matter! They were friends with Ryu, meaning that they wouldn't hurt him, right? Actually, Ryu was a violent sort of girl, so scratch that.
"Ano," Ryosuke said to the girl, a bit timidly now that he just drained his own self-confidence with his thoughts, "A-anata wa... Besanii desu ka?"
They stared stupidly up at him, understanding completely unachieved, despite the simplicity of the question asked. Ryosuke bit his lip, a bit disappointed that Besanii was caked in so much make-up, and that it was become apparent that they did not speak Japanese.
The girl stopped primping her mane of curls and glanced at the large, tattooed man. He stared back at her before standing up, pushing up the sleeves that his vest did not have. Ryosuke backed up in fear at the obvious belligerant nature of the act.
"Are you hitting on my girl?" the man growled.
Ryosuke jumped back, feeling his legs shaking. His mind struggled to translate what the guy had just uttered. He couldn't understand much, only something about hitting his girl...
"N-no, Onii-san," Ryosuke stuttered. "No such shingu! No hittingu!"[/b]
The young teenager was starting to get the feeling he'd spoken to the wrong people.

Nathan's eyes shifted at his papers before he opened his brief case to get through more files while Bethany just sat there, dreading the meeting. But she couldn't help but over hear the background behind her.
Besanii? ...what's a 'besanii'...? Beth sat up with her back turned to the commotion behind her.
"Are you hitting on my girl?"
"N-no, Onii-san. No such shingu! No hittingu!"
"Listen up, Buddy!" Beth rolled her eyes as she turned in her seat.
Nathan noticed but kept his eyes down. "Beth, just ignore them."
"If you don't understand a fucking word he said, just shut the fuck up and ignore it. Alright, there are people trying to eat here, ain't no one wanna pick up that skank." She leaned back against the table, spreading her legs the best she could in that skirt of hers in a most unladylike way. "He asked if your 'girl' is a besanii." Nathan sighed and turned his face away...hoping that Beth wasn't getting in trouble behind him. Beth only looked up at the little Japanese guy, if she stood up, she'd probably be just as tall or even a little taller. People here were small, even their food came small. "Hey, you." She nodded at the teen. "'Besanii' wa nan desu ka?" She said it in the whitest accent ever trying to speak Japanese. Besanii must have been slang for something.
Now ANOTHER foreigner was talking to him. Ryosuke swallowed nervously. At least this one was saving him, and not trying to kill him, plus she seemed to have some knowledge of Japanese, even if her accent was.... Eh.
"A-a-a-a-ah.... Besanii, Be-besanii ha..." Ryosuke was trying very hard not to cry. Never before in his life had he been so scared. Actually, he was always really freaked out in gym class, especially when they were playing with potentially fatal objects.
"Ryu-chan no itoko desu," Ryosuke said. On second thought, this person probably didn't know who Ryu was. And he should probably stick to easy Japanese, just in case....
"A-a, boku-- a, watashi no tomodachi no itoko... desu."
(Oh, geez, here's where I get to display my lack of knowledge. I hope I got the grammar and stuff right.)
He said it slowly, just to make sure she understood him. Then he said it again, in English.

For some reason it felt like Beth's heart had stopped as she stared up at the boy. "'Ryu-chan'...?" It couldn't be... After all, this boy said cousin. Her tongue changed as she looked at him seriously. "Why are you asking this?" Beth scoffed a little. "Omae no tomodachi ne...she looks like them?" Beth smiled as she pointed at the two who didn't understand a single thing she said to the boy. "Omae no tomodachi ga amerikajin desu ka?" She turned away. "If you're looking for your friend's cousin, I'd ask your friend before I ask the 'cousins'."
Ryosuke paused for a second. Something seemed wrong....
"Ano..." It was shocking to hear this girl referring to him as "omae". He knew American's were forward, though, and he shook off the rude language. "Hai. E... Tomodachi ga Amerika jin da to omou..."
And then it hit him. He had said itoko instead of oba! He remember now. Ryu had said her aunt who was old enough to be her cousing was coming. Ryosuke beamed, proud of himself. He clapped his hands together and jumped up in excitement.
"Chotto matte! Itoko janai! Ryu-chan no-- er... Boku no tomadachi no oba-chan da!"
He nodded. THAT was right now. He laughed a little to himself at his own mistake. Whoopsie!
(I keep thinking Beth is Ryu's cousin! Whoops! Sorry! XD)

"Uh...Bethany? Is that you? Are you my Auntie? ,"Ryu asked in English. She was good at it and could make the questions understandable. SHe really didn't know who her Auntie was and wanted to see who it was. She only knew the woman's name. Bethany.

It was a surpise that the 'White' people actually shrugged off the situation, but Beth just couldn't help but stare at the little girl who came up to asked her...
"Uh...Bethany? Is that you? Are you my Auntie?"
...Beth was speechless... Or rather than not being able to say anything, nothing wanted to come out... Why...? Why? WHY?? Beth's eyes furrowed with a little bit of sadness but more of anger at the same time. She wasn't ready....she wasn't ready for this... Not yet! Not yet... Beth breathed slowly, everything felt so slow now, it even felt like Beth's heart stopped or slowed down too. Too slow... She didn't know how to react. She couldn't react, she just froze.
Nathan only stared before pulling his chair closer to Bethany. "You must Miss Hanuna Ryu?" He tried to smile kindly to the child but at the same time, rubbing on Beth's shoulder to make her snap back into reality. "I must say, the real deal, you both look like sisters." His other hand reached for Ryu's hand gently. "Or mother and child." He grasped Beth's hand before lightly grasping Ryu's hand. "Miss Hanuna, can I ask how you've been living?"

Ryu shook Nathan's hand and then looked at Bethany and then to the floor."Well...do you want to know my life story? Or just the basics? My past? What? Be more specific.,"she said trying not to snap at him.
Running her fingers through her short hair she closed her eyes that were like her mother's. SHe looked like her mother but had the eye color as her dad but those were barely noticable because she looked alot like her mother.

(Fuck my easy grammar mistakes....)
Nathan laughed at the girl, trying be friendly. "Well, just if you've been doing well and if you're hap--"
"Shut up, Nathan!" Beth pushed Nathan's and Ryu's hands from each other and grabbed onto Ryu's wrists, sternly but not too tightly. She stood up swiftly and towered over the short girl, Beth's eyes furrowed at what should have been her sister's child. "Can't you speak more respectively...?" Beth gave Ryu a stern look in the eyes, no matter what...even if this thing looked like her sister, Beth just couldn't seem to accept it. Another thing she she couldn't accept was the way this thing spoke to Nathan for some reason. And most of all....those eyes.... Beth's fingers began to twitch, trying not to tighten her grip. Those eyes! "You're not my sister's daughter..." Beth's chest heaved as she took slow deep breath's. "...you're nothing like her...." That personality....the colors of her eyes.........Beth just couldn't accept it. Beth stared down at the girl before scoffing and tossing her wrist aside. "Nathan..."Beth's eyes furrowed down at Ryu. "...I want to go home."
Nathan only stared at her with furrowed eyes as well. "But...you said you'd give her a chance..." You didn't even give her a chance yet....
