In the peaceful village of Dreytson(random name), another day was moving along quietly. Villagers worked in the fields and mothers tending to the laundry, housework, and children. Everyone was working hard, happy and calmly and--WHUMP.
Suddenly, BOULDER. A huge rock, from God knows where, landing straight on top of a hovel, crushing the northern half. Lucky for the family that lived there, who were eating in the kitchen, the giant abomination had fallen in the rooms next to them.
"MUUUUGI!!" The father bellowed in all of his red-faced, hairy glory. Some of his potato mash flew out of his mouth, leaving some spots on the front of his shirt.
"What?!" The eldest son, Mugi, no kidding, lifted his hands in defence. His eyes were wide with bewilderment and shock.
"IT'S YOU, ISN'T IT. IT'S YOUR FAULT." Mugi's hairy father was looking pretty pissed, waving his burly arm.
"HOW AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR A BOULDER?!"
"EVERYTHING'S YOUR FAULT. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO KILLED BESSY."
"Uh, well.. That was an accident. How was I supposed to know that she wasn't supposed to eat-"
Mugi's paternal figure cut him off, picking the poor boy up by the collar and tossing him towards the exit. He threw him an old bronze sword wrapped in brown cloth, a shabby wooden scabbard, a cloak, and 200 gold coins. He also stomped towards Mugi's room and picked up his beloved case of tubes and chucked it out of the door.
"Go! You're no longer living with us."
"Lolwhat?"
Mugi's father slammed the door shut with only a "Go get some money and learn how to live in the real world!"
Poor Mugi, nineteen years old and completely confused, picked himself up and gathered his provisions. With nothing else to do, he began the first step of his journey by leaving the village.
With no other plans, the young and new adventurer decided to head to the large city of Aelmoor. Not that he knew where exactly it was.
(Who needs a cliche demon attack when you have a boulder? LOLOLOLOL LAME.)

Luka quietly left from her job in Aelmoor. God was she tired, her eyes drooped and she sighed loudly. Luka put a coin in a silver-haired woman's begging cup. "God, I'm exhausted..." Luka said out loud. She continued walking to her living place.
Haku noticed the coin drop into her cup or beer. "What the fuck! Why you ruin my beer?" she yelled at Luka. Haku shrugged and drank it. She gagged at the coin's flavor.

Ryu was just sitting in her bedroom polishing her collection of swords and weapons when her mother came in."Hurry~ Get your stuff and leave!"she said.
Ryu was confused but did as she was told, and then pulled on a black hooded cloak. She was always the one to listen to her mother.
The young ebony-haired girl but all her swords in a sheath and then pulled it over her shoulder along with some arrows and a bow.
Ryu looked at her mother before waving good bye and walking out the house, and began to walk to God knows where. SHe was going to Aelmoor though.

Mugi walked through Dracley forest, swatting at leaves and thick branches as he walked.
"Geez. I can barely see through all of this green," Mugi panted, smashing another stray branch with his sheathed sword.
An old lady had said that cutting through the forest would be a good shortcut to Aelmoor, albeit tiring. So, here Mugi was, slashing at tree branches and nature and stomping around aimlessly.
"So..tiring..stupid..trees.." The tedious walk seemed hardly worth it. Mugi made sure to promise himself to NEVER listen to random old ladies again. THey were probably senile anyways. Ha-ha.
After two long hours, Mugi came across a clearing, with a small spring. "Thank god," he gasped, gasping for breath. He was exhausted and THIRSTY. He slurped up the water from the spring like there was no tomorrow.
"Man. Why did my stupid dad kick me out? I can't live like this.." Mugi kicked a pebble and sighed.

Ruko was walking home to her cabin on a mountain peak when she saw an enormous boulder sitting next to a mountain path, minding its own business. It was really gargantuan, about two Rukos tall, even though she was already quite tall for a person herself.
"Wow," she whistled, sizing up the rock. "I didn't realize they could get this big. What is this thing doing out here?"
Ruko leaned against the boulder, still perplexed at its enormity. Suddenly, however, it began to slide, leaving a deep trench in the dirt. Already quite near to the edge, the rock tumbled over the side, falling quickly.
"Uh-oh."
Holding her breath, Ruko peeked over the edge. She couldn't see where it landed--the bottom of the mountain was shrouded in a white, misty haze. A thud and a crash resounded in the valley.
"I hope that didn't hit anyone," Ruko mumbled to herself, continuing on her way. Ah, it was probably okay.

"Oh I hope I have enough..."
A blond boy stood, rustling through the pockets of his faded-yellow tunic, only hearing the soft shake of the paper he had in there. Basically, his pocket space was only carrying a lovey-dovey note his mother wrote for him, a to-do list, and another list about things he shouldn't do in the future which he barely looked at. Not enough coins for a piece of bread. His bag which hung over his shoulders, had only supplies in it. None of which he could sell, or get rid of. Blah.
He sighed, listening to his stomach gurgle. Maybe he should get a quick one day job? Oh but he had to get going sooner or later! .....Not on an empty stomach. Ugh.
Len felt something touch him from behind and he quickly turned, his hands out and ready, but only saw a girl there. A little one. She looked up at him with bright green eyes, looking like she was in trouble. He narrowed his eyes at her, before realizing she had one of his arrows. She must've taken it out of his quiver. He gritted his teeth. That's great.
"Can I please have that back?" He asked sweetly. The girl only gave him a pouty look and said no, then ran off. He scowled, seeing her just toss it off to the side after getting more interested in something else. He picked it up, and put it back into his quiver. "Okay. Back to looking for food," He mumbled with fake enthusiasm.

Mugi sucked in a deep breath of air and leaned over the spring to wash the sweat from his face. The water was warm; not nearly as refreshing as Mugi would like it to be. After blinking some stray water from his eyes, Mugi dried his face with his cloak.
He sighed and leaned on the small shrine that sat next to the spring. He hadn't bothered to notice before. It was made of stone, and it was TOTALLY cracked. The tiny door even hung half open. Whatever the shrine was keeping in was long gone. Probably a dragon. It didn't matter to Mugi.
All he cared about was the hot summer in the forest. It was at least somewhat cooler from being shaded in the trees, but smashing down trees for an indefinite amount of time tended to heat a person up.
"This is so uncomfortable.. Stupid forest.. Stupid bugs. Stupid heat. Stupid, stupid, stupid."
Mugi kicked a rock into the bushes and stomped through the bushes once more. Aelmoor better be close. Mugi thought grumpily. He really didn't like his dad right now, and the sweat made his tunic cling uncomfortably around him. Ugh.
Meanwhile, behind the shrine, a small spirit that freshly escaped hopped into a pile of leaves. The leaves began to gather, creating a humanoid shape. A golem. The golem, hungry for something to eat, particularily something with a nice beating heart and tender flesh, silently followed after Mugi, camoflaged among the foliage.

"Get me there faster, you page!" The princess sat within her carriage, riding through the woods, on her way back home to Aelmoor.
"S-sh....We'll be there soon!" Shigeru sat at the back of the carriage outside, sometimes getting hit by branches and leaves from over the top of the carriage. What was up with this princess? There was nothing much he could tell the coach man to do with his horse. How badly he wanted to tell the princess to shut up.
Seeu frowned and kicked the wall of her carriage where she was sure her page was. "I wish to make an offering to a shrine near here first!"
"You don't want to do that!" He tried to call as loudly as possible for her to hear, the nearest shrine was the only shrine here and it was not a very good one to go to either
"I said we're going, so we're going!!"
Shigeru grumbled to himself as he covered his face before screaming in pain to a sudden branch that swung down on him. The carriage was heading towards a shrine that they all didn't know was broken.

Complain. That's basically everything that Mugi did. Whine, gripe, grumble, moan, groan, snivel, nag. No one else was around to hear it, except Mugi, but that didn't matter. The so-called adventurer continued to complain and whine.
"I hate this.. the leaves are scratching me.. I'm tired. I'm hot... I'm uncomfortable.."
Under Mugi's notice, however, a golem was arriving closer and closer. Soon, the leaf creature was almost upon him. It reached out a grassy arm and tried to snatch its prey.
"Hey, what the-"
Mugi was caught by surprise and lifted from the ground. The golem held him with its massive hands and began to bring the young man to its mouth.
Mugi was frozen with fear and shock for a second. Then the reality of the situation hit him and he swung his sword. It was still in its wooden scabbard, but the blow made the leaf golem's head blow apart.
As the creature realed from the hit, Mugi fell to the ground and scrabbled to his feet. He ran in a random direction, which was back to the shrine.
"Stay back, thing!" Mugi cried, pulling his bronze sword from the sheath. It was rather old and flimsy, but a good enough weapon to scare off a golem. Hopefully.
Now that Mugi had run back to the forest glen where sunlight poured in, he got a good look at the golem's size. And man, was it BIG. The creature was around two Mugis tall and four wide.
It was a huge thick thing of leaves, twigs, and decaying forest matter. It had no eyes, thick legs, stubby arms with five fingers, and a mouth on a round head. If it was smaller and not trying to EAT Mugi, it would be kind of cute.
The Forest Golem--that's what Mugi decided to call it--dove towards Mugi, it's leafy fingers extended. Mugi swung his sword at it, severing the index and middle fingers. The missing fingers were soon replaced by more leaves.
The golem barely flinched and took a swing at Mugi, sending him flying backwards. He landed next to the small stone shrine and touched his cheek. There would definitely be a bruise. A bruise from a pile of leaves. How embarrassing.
"Jeez! How hard is it to get away from me?!" Mugi screeched as he pulled himself up. "Go away! You're so annoying!"
He swung his flimsy bronze sword a few more times, cutting right through the golem. Every slice was regenerated with more forest matter. Fighting seemed impossible.
In less than a day of travelling MUGI WAS GOING TO DIE. Forests were more dangerous than he thought.
"Stop it! Go away! Begone!" Mugi's voice was desperate and whiny now; he was beginning to feel panicked. Mugi waved his sword a few more times and ducked a punch from the Forest Golem.
He tried to stab it in the belly--there had to be a weak point SOMEWHERE--but the golem didn't notice and swung its hand in a backhand slap.
Mugi skidded across the earthy forest floor and hit his head on the shrine. His head was sent spinning, and he could see stars.
"Oh my god.." Mugi whimpered. "Stupid shrine.."
As the golem advanced, Mugi kicked the shrine, and something clattered out of the rocky doors. Sometihng shiny.
Although there really was no time to be looking at pretty objects, Mugi bent down and examined the mysterious object. It was a dagger.
The glistening silver blade looked well shaped and sharp. The hilt, a beautiful golden color, was shaped like a collection of leaves and vines. There was a pale green gem in the center.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed over Mugi, and he realized that he should stop admiring the dagger and FIGHT THAT STUPID THING. The golem was standing over Mugi and swung both of its fists down.
Mugi freaked and thrust the shiny dagger upwards. It hit the golem straight in the belly, and the leaves exploded away from the area. Dead leaves flew in all directions, and NOW the golem was responsive.
It put its arms on the missing hole of a stomach. Mugi swung the dagger a few more times, somewhat confident at the effects. Soon, the golem was reduced to a pile of useless leaves, fluttering in the wind.
The little glowing light that had first inhabitted the leaves was floating, and Mugi poked it with his dagger. It was obviously the cause for the big mess.
The soul--or whatever--fizzled in a flash of sparks. It was replaced with a pale green sphere--much like the jewel in the dagger Mugi held--and fell to the ground.
"A peridot..?" Mugi picked it up and examined it. "Perfect commemoration of my first victory. Heheh."
In a celebration, Mugi lifted the peridot high above his head and placed it in his pouch of coins.
He picked up his new dagger as well, and found a small leather sheath. He placed the new-found weapon around his belt and then picked up the bronze sword.
"A lot good YOU did me."
Still, Mugi kept his useless weapon. It had a longer reach than a dagger, and two weapons were always better than one. No matter how useless the other was. If needed, he could always sell the bronze stick anyways.

(ww By the way, there's a plot that is kind of happening around the same time you guys are doing whatever. You ARE obviously part of it, but I can't just tell you, otherwise your characters will catch on too fast and just do what's needed. Which is no fun. Haha.)

Fumbling sounds and clashing could be heard near or far...it echoed slightly as Shigeru began looking around out of curiosity after being bored, that is until, when he turned his head, a branch that had been pushed aside by the carriage thwumped and slapped his face. "If I get a scar on my face or any damage to my face, that royal pain in the behind is going to...urghh....."
"Princess!" Shigeru turned as he heard the coachman called, before getting slapped in the face by wood again. "You might want to see this!" The horses came to a stop in a small clearing and Shigeru's eyes furrowed as he looked around. "There's a boy here too!"
Shigeru hopped off and walked around the carriage to take a look at the place. "Is this the--" The door of the carriage quickly swung into his face.
"Is this the shrine...??!!" Seeu tried to pull herself out, but her crinoline kept her in until she used her hands to push herself out, making her fall face first into the leaves and twigs on the ground. She propped herself up on her arms and looked around before shrieking.
"Princess!" The coachman jumped off to go to her side as quickly as possible.
"P-princess..." Shigeru grumbled a little with a fake smile as he pushed the door from him.
Seeu shrieked at the coachman as he tried to help her up. Shigeru only looked away without helping as she pulled herself up the best she could with that giant fluffy dress on. He didn't say anything when her crinoline flipped over and he could see her...well...bloomers, not that he's never seen bloomers before...even if she had less than bloomers, this girl...ugh....
Seeu looked around and shrieked before looking at her gloves and shrieking before looking at her dress and shrieking, before looking at some of her hair strands and shrieking. "Oh, this is horrible! This is horrible!" She looked over at Shigeru. "I look horrible!!" She began to cry as she walked over to Shigeru, in search of comfort. He only hesitantly opened his arms as she approached before shrieking at him and falling back. "What is that?!!" She pointed to his cheek.
"What...?" Shigeru began touching his cheek, feeling something sting. He looked down to his white gloves, seeing blood on them before pulling off his glove to actually touch his face again. "What..!??!" Shigeru began to panic as he pulled out his pocket watch to use it as a mirror. "Oh my god...Oh My God...." He pulled his watcher closer to get a closer look. "Is that a scar??! It's a flipping scar!!" He wiped his face and paused a little, perhaps some berries splattered at his face...better than getting a scar. The stinging must have been from the numberous slaps he received. "..you...you fricken scared me!" He shouted and glared at the princess.
"T-that zit!!" Seeu turned where she was, grossed out.
"W-what??!!?" Shigeru looked at his watch again and shouted in aggravation as he turned to hide his face in the carriage out of embarrassment and shame.
"Ahem..." The short and lumpy coachman coughed into his wrist, adverting his eyes away from the king and queen of drama. "Your Highness..." He used his arm to gesture to the green haired boy who only stood a few feet away.

Mugi opened his mouth and closed it again. Two peopele(a couple?) were shrieking at one another. They were barely making sense, at least not to Mugi. Weirdos.
Although Mugi's mother always told him not to affiliate with weird strangers, these two looked like RICH weird strangers. They even had a small man call one of them, "Your Highness". Oh boy, maybe they were royalty!
Mugi's father's rule was always to kiss the ass of the royalty so they wouldn't kill you. Plus, one might get a handsome reward for doing favors.
Mugi bowed low to the two people. Rewards always were good. Especially if the rewards meant money.
"Er.. uh...Nice to, uh, meet you. Uh, your Highness." The last part was added in quickly.
This might be a nice day. First, Mugi got a pretty gem and weapon after suffering only a few bruises and head damages, and now, he might be able to talk to royalty and get money. Then, according to his lovely head-plans, he would head to Aelmoor and start a new life. Sounded good to him.

Luka noticed as she walked home the smell of smoke, it bothered her but she ignored it. Then she stopped dead in her tracks when she saw her house on fire. No time to react! She needed help, what started the fire.
Haku poured more gasoline on the house as the fire raged. The house collapsing as the flames devoured it. "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR RUINING MY BEER!" Haku yelled.

Seeu stared at the green haired boy with a bit of fright and stepped back a little when he bowed. Before she could say anything though, Shigeru viciously shouted beneath his breath, "D-don't look at ME!!" Shigeru pulled off his hat and used it to cover his face.
The princess only stared at the boy before giving a small hesitant smile. B-but this boy was so incredibly... "Charming..." She quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she, trying to be as comfortable as possible, curtsied to him, trying to ignore how horrible she must be looking right now."A-as well as mine...S-sir....Sir.... Excuse me, exactly who are you?" Seeu stood tall and began trying to dust herself and fix her long wavy locks, trying to make them look neat. She began wiping her face, hoping that it did not look dirty until the lumpy coachman handed her a fan. She began trying to flip the fan open clumsily but every time, it would open the wrong way, or she would drop it. The coachman rolled his eyes and picked it up, opening it correctly for her as she grinned and began fanning herself, hiding her face behind it...trying to hide any mess she couldn't possibly see, hoping that anything particular about her face wouldn't disgust this...most adorable boy.

"Damn, this place is cold," Shiro growled, wrapping his thick fur cloak tighter around himself. "And this cloak is so heavy, I feel like I'm going to collapse."
"Oh, don't be such a wuss," Kuro replied, not even batting an eyelash or breaking his stride. In fact, he made his retort seem natural, and even as if it were part of an everyday routine.
Shiro scowled and continued to sit in his comfortable chair, shivering slightly. A slight draft whistled through the window panes, but there was not much that could be done about it. Without anything else to do, he snatched his novel from a side table and flipped open the pages to the bookmark.
In the story, a band of heroes sealed the soul of a demon king into a variety of gemstones, successfully saving the world. Then, the stones were scattered across the world and protected in order to prevent the rising ever again.
Shiro's mouth drew into a line as he read, wondering what would happen if...
"Hey, Kuro," Shiro said, standing up quickly, dropping his book back to the table. "I'm leaving. I'm going on... an adventure."
Kuro's expression was perplexed, and he stared at Shiro wide-eyed. "You can't do that, Shicchan," he gasped.
"You can't stop me."
Shiro quickly began to throw some salted pork into a bag and grabbed his stash of gold coins he'd been saving up. Only about 700 gold clinked in the small leather pouch. Then he grabbed three books, bound in scaly leather. Those entered the bag too.
"No, seriously," Kuro said, watching as Shiro packed. "You can't."
"I told you already," Shiro answered impatiently. He tightened his cloak once more before throwing his sack onto his back. "You can't stop me!"
"But really, you can't go!"
Shiro shoved his cold feet into his boots and tightened the laces. He wiggled his toes before glaring at Kuro one last time.
"You can't stop me from going," he growled lowly. And with that, he reached for the doorknob, twisted, and walked at the same time.
"That's not the problem," Kuro said. "It snowed so much last night that all the doors are stuck shut."
Shiro smashed into the wooden door, nose first.
